Air-jet texturising process is by far the most versatile of all the yarn texturising methods in that it can blend filaments together during processing. It's a mechanical method,where cold air stream is used to produce bulked yarns of low extensibility. In this technology, the feed yarns need not be restricted to the synthetic filament yarns, very wide variety of feed yarns can be used. Air-textured yarns has distinctive appearance and physical characteristics of spun yarns. Air-jet texturing process is by far the most versatile of all the yarn texturing methods in terms of type of yarns, it's linear density, and variety of effects that can be brought about using the same machine. This greater versatility offers the texturizer, far wider scope than other types of textured yarns.

Yarns produced by the air-jet texturising are totally different structures in that they much more closely simulate spun yarn structures. Whereas the bulkiness of the stretch yarns decreases with the degree of the tension imposed on them, the form of air-textured yarns can be made to remain virtually unchanged at loads corresponding to those normally imposed in fabric production and during wear. This is due to the locked-in entangled loop structure attributed to air jet textured yarns.
Air jet textured yarns are a spun look like alternative to the more synthetic hand of false twist textured yarns. Air textured yarn is very bulky with permanent crimps and loops. Air textured yarn can offer an entirely different look and hand to any fabric. It can be used in a very broad range of fabrics from simple lightweight scrim all the way to very heavy duty soft luggage fabrics, from lightweight swim wear to heavy weight parkas.
